G.A.S Day & Night Controllers

G.A.S Day & Night Controllers

Craig Page |

Maintaining a properly optimised environment is fundamental to a successful grow and a good harvest. With these devices, you'll be able to set and maintain exact environmental parameters for both day and night, giving you more control over your grow cycle and potentially saving on energy at the same time.

How do these sensors work?

Essentially, all Day & Night Controllers use a light sensor integrated within a probe to detect whether your lights are on or off (make sure they're placed in a well-lit area of your grow room) and to measure temperature/humidity. The dial on the left-hand side is for 'daytime' adjustments while the dial on the right will control 'night time' inputs. The device will then switch between day and night settings in response to your lights and power your device on/off until the threshold set by you is reached.

Heater Control

Studies have repeatedly shown that it's possible to significantly affect plant morphology (shape and structure) - especially internodal spacing - by controlling for the differences between 'lights on' and 'lights off' temperature - this is known as 'DIF'. While this effect can vary between cultivars, it's possible to reduce or increase stem elongation (and eliminate the use of PGRs often used to achieve this) by adjusting DIF. The G.A.S Day and Night Temperature Controller is the perfect tool for these purposes and one that every grower should have. With this device, you'll be able to set exact target temperatures to effectively regulate your grow room heater - ideal for controlling early-bloom stretch as well as potentially saving £££ off the cost of electricity.

Humidity Control

As well as controlling for temperature differences, it's also important to ensure that humidity levels are appropriate for both day and night phases. While your plants won't be photosynthesizing during their dark period, they'll still be transpiring and adding moisture to the air, so it's important to make sure that humidity levels don't spike (especially as lower temperatures will raise the relative humidity levels), leading to the potential risk of mould/mildew forming. If you're using a humidifier to increase humidity or a dehumidifier to decrease humidity, the G.A.S Day and Night Humidifier and Dehumidifier Controllers will allow you to control these more precisely when your lights are both on and off.
